Icon of St. Andrew the Apostle. Ікона Св. Апостола Андрія
On Sunday, November 30, following the Divine Liturgy, we will bless the icon of St. Andrew the Apostle. The icon is a gift from St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Cathedral as a sign of their support and unity with our parish and with the people of Ukraine. The icon was commissioned by the Cathedral from the iconographers in Ukraine and was presented to our parish by Rev. Dean Henderson, rector of the Cathedral. We pray for the parishioners of St. Andrew’s Cathedral and ask St. Andrew the Apostle to pray to God for peace in Ukraine!
В неділю, 30 листопада, після Божественної Літургії ми освятимо ікону Св. Апостола Андрія Первозванного. Ікона є дарунком від Римо-Католицького Собору Св. Андрія на знак їхньої підтримки та єдності з нашою парафією та з народом України. Ікону було замовлено в Україні та подаровано нашій парафії о. Діном Хендерсоном, настоятелем собору. Ми молимося за парафіян Собору Св. Андрія та просимо Святого Апостола молитися до Бога за мир в Україні!

As we gather to celebrate St. Nicholas feast day, we will be welcoming in our parish, Bishop Michael Kwiatkowski, who will lead us in our celebration.
Following the Liturgy, we will be visited by St. Nicholas, who will bring some presents for our children.
Following the Liturgy and St. Nicholas’ visit, you are invited to join us for a celebratory luncheon at the parish hall, where you can personally meet Bishop Michael.
Since the seating is limited, we are asking you to get your tickets in advance.
Tickets: adults $20.00, students 12-18: $10.00, children 6-11: $5.00.

Byzantine adult catechism course
The Catholic Church is a “symphony of faith” with many liturgical traditions, all united under the Holy Father. Among these is the Ukrainian Catholic Church, where the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom and the rich theology of the East express the same Catholic faith in a unique and beautiful way.
This January, Holy Resurrection Parish (Located at St. John Vianney, Penticton, BC) will begin a 12-week Adult Catechism in the Byzantine Rite, starting January 5th. Together, we will journey through the richness of the Byzantine tradition, exploring:
- The history and spirituality of the Byzantine Catholic Church
- The Divine Liturgy: heaven on earth with chant, incense, and icons
- The sacraments (Holy Mysteries) in the Byzantine tradition
- Unity with Rome: breathing with “both lungs” of the Church

Holodomor Commemoration ~ Sunday, Nov 23
The Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Victoria Branch invites you to attend the Holodomor Commemoration on Sunday, November 23, 2025, to honour the memory of the millions of innocent Ukrainians who perished during the Holodomor (1932–1933) — the man-made famine orchestrated by the Soviet regime.
Together, we will reflect, light candles and stand in remembrance of those who suffered and resisted.
Let us ensure that the tragedy of the Holodomor is never forgotten.
