SingCon Mission Statement

The goal of SingCon is to advance the state and quality of church music in the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church in the English-speaking world, gathering cantors, choir directors, singers, clergy, and others interested in church singing to meet one another, network, share resources, discuss various issues, and—most importantly—to pray together, glorifying God. SingCon sees the traditional Byzantine liturgy and chant of the UGCC as essential sources of liturgical and spiritual renewal for Christians in the twenty-first century. Following the principles outlined by Metropolitan Andrey Sheptytsky in his pastoral letter on church singing from 1941, SingCon seeks to successfully integrate congregational and choral singing, raising both to the highest standard.

There is a “block rate” set for SingCon. Rooms are $159(+tax)/night, which includes 2 Queen Size Beds in each room, and hot breakfasts for up to 4 people. Shuttle to and from the airport is included and, if available, shuttle to/from the church. The church driving commute is approximately 7-8 minutes.

Please be advised that the hotel can not guarantee the shuttle will always be available for church commutes, but participants without cars can likely get a ride from other participants who do. In other words, no cantor will be left behind.

Singles: If you are attending SingCon as a single person and would like to share a room to bring down costs, please email us. We can try to connect you to other singles who share this need.

Billeting option: Some parishioners have offered to accommodate SingCon participants in their homes; if you are interested in such an option, please note this in the additional comments box at the end of the form and write us an e-mail.

Families and Groups, please note: Each individual participant should fill out this form so that we have a total headcount (with names) of each person attending SingCon 2024. If you are making a group payment for multiple individuals, please send a note to hello@ugccmusic.com.
